Regeno Ventures is a plastic-free biodegradable packaging manufacturer in Tirupur, Tamil Nadu. It was founded in 2017 by Cibhi Selven with a mission to eliminate single-use plastic carry bags from Indian supply chains.
Unlike most compostable packaging companies that use petroleum-derived polymer blends such as PLA or PBAT, Regeno’s products contain zero synthetic polymer.
They are made entirely from native cassava (tapioca) starch, corn starch, and vegetable oil derivatives which makes them genuinely 100% plastic-free compostable bags that biodegrade within 3 to 6 months and are home compostable.
Products are strong enough to carry up to 20 kg and dissolve only in boiling water, not rain. Regeno operates in the B2B market, serving garment, automotive, and consumer goods buyers, and is located in Tirupur, which is India’s largest garment export hub.

Regeno is incubated at NSRCEL, IIM Bangalore — one of India’s most selective startup incubation programmes — and at Vel Tech TBI, Chennai.
In January 2026, Regeno secured angel investment from Yohan and Michelle Poonawalla — prominent Indian industrialists. Earlier seed funding was raised from Vel Tech TBI in March 2021.
Regeno’s core product differentiation is worth noting for procurement teams:
- the company’s bags contain no PLA, no PBAT, and no synthetic polymer of any kind.
- the formulation is based entirely on cassava starch, corn starch, and vegetable oil derivatives.
- this makes Regeno bags genuinely plastic-free in composition which is a meaningful distinction for brands or retailers whose sustainability claims require zero plastic content.
