Polythene Industries is a Thane-based manufacturer and exporter of plastic and compostable packaging products. Founded on 4 January 1970 by the late P. D. Sampat, the company began by manufacturing industrial liners before expanding into garbage bags, nursery bags, biomedical waste bags and other packaging products.
The company manufactures both conventional plastic packaging and compostable alternatives. Its compostable range uses materials such as PLA, PBAT and starch-based resins, while its conventional products use virgin and recycled polyethylene. Its product range includes garbage bags, industrial liners, polybags, nursery bags and non-woven bags.
Polythene Industries markets its garbage bags under the Queen’s Garbage Bags brand. The company also exports packaging products to markets in the Gulf, Africa and the United Kingdom.
The business is led by proprietor Kishore P. Sampat, who served as President of the All India Plastics Manufacturers’ Association (AIPMA) during 2021–2022.
