Yes, our injection moulding cups match PET’s tensile strength and are naturally rigid. The natural fibres increase stiffness. They also resist sidewall squeeze and stacking loads typical in takeaway service.
Injection moulding biodegradable plastics does soften sooner than PET. But our formulation maintains integrity up to 90 °C, which is adequate for lattes or tea served below boiling. For boiling liquids, we recommend our double-wall fibre cup line.
Ukhi’s injection moulding cups break down in industrial composting facilities in about 90-120 days. If no compost program exists, they can be collected with organic waste streams.
Our injection moulded cups are alternatives to single use plastic but they can handle light reuse in controlled settings. Reuse life also depends on thickness, temperature exposure, and washing method. If you need multi-use durability, we can suggest a reinforced grade and cup design.
