Biodegradable Thermoforming Resin for Sustainable Packaging
Switch to premium compostable thermoforming biopolymer and replace traditional plastics with high performance products. Our thermoforming resin runs on the same sheet extrusion and inline forming lines on your shop floor. And it ends its life as water, CO₂ and biomass, not microplastics. Certified to IS 17088, the resin offers PP-like rigidity with excellent temperature resistance.
Compostable Thermoforming Biopolymer
Biodegradable Bioplastic for Thermoforming Lines
At UKHI, we develop compostable biopolymers from agricultural waste and formulate them for real production conditions. Our thermoforming compostable rigid packaging works on most existing production lines with little to no modification. Form on conventional extrusion and thermoforming lines to produce plates, trays, cups, clamshells, and more.
Our Product Range
Milky White Film Resin (EGBF – OP)

Made in India,
Made for the Planet
Our compostable thermoforming biopolymer is made from agricultural waste materials in India.
Leftover hemp and flax fibers are turned into renewable bioplastic feedstock. This local supply of raw materials, manufacture and distribution of finished compostable resin shortens supply chains and trims freight emissions.

FAQs
A compostable thermoforming biopolymer is a compostable resin blend that can be extruded into a sheet and then formed into rigid packaging like trays, cups, lids, and clamshells.
No. Our bioplastics for thermoforming mimics the melt strength of HIPS. Existing plug-assist tools, vacuum ports and trim knives work unchanged. You may lower oven temperatures by 10-15 °C and use 5-10 % slower pre-stretch speeds to avoid web sag in deep draw items.
UKHI’s is India’s top manufacturer and distributor of compostable thermoforming biopolymer. Our customers use it to produce food contact packaging. It has been tested for acidic, alcoholic and fatty simulants, this allows for safe contact with everything from yoghurt to ready meals.
Absolutely. Our compostable thermoforming biopolymer is industrially compostable up to 0.8 mm wall. Under controlled aerobic conditions, they disintegrate and biodegrade to CO₂ beyond the 90 % threshold demanded by EN 13432.
At current resin indices, PP sheet may appear 10-15 % cheaper per kilo. But converters can realize savings via EPR fee exemptions, compostable logo price premiums, and growing bans on rigid PP for ready meal packs. When these externalities are modeled, total cost of ownership often tilts in favor of bioplastic for thermoforming.
